ABC: The Celebrity Dating Game at 10p IN THE NEWS The Media Rating Council responded to a formal request from Nielsen to proactively enter an accreditation hiatus period for its National Television measurement service. The VAB had petitioned the MRC to suspend the measurement company’s accreditation for what it deemed violations of the MRC’s standards during the pandemic, and the MRC had scheduled a vote on the matter. George W. Ivie, Executive Director and CEO of the MRC, pointed to “deep-rooted, ongoing performance issues” at Nielsen, and said the matter “requires further consideration by the full MRC Board” before a conclusion on accreditation status is reached. Nielsen said it is taking the hiatus to focus on its auditing process, and is “confident in the integrity” of its data. A Hazmat crew was summoned to Fox News Media headquarters on Friday, after an employee on the 21st floor of the building opened an envelope that contained a white powdery substance. “We immediately notified the NYPD’s Hazmat unit and the FDNY, both of which responded accordingly and the floor was evacuated,” said FNC. “The substance was determined to be non-hazardous and we are very grateful for their swift attention to the incident.” TV One and CLEO TV have inked a syndication deal with Kin to bring digital series “Tia Mowry’s Quick Fix” to TV One’s sister cable network, CLEO TV. Beginning in October, CLEO TV plans to roll out 80 episodes in a multi-year agreement. Behavior by actor Vincent Kartheiser on the set of HBO Max’s “Titans” led to at least two internal investigations, reports Deadline. Described as “disruptive, juvenile behavior and inappropriate comments,” the incidents were investigated by WBTV’s Labor Relations Board and led first to a reprimand, and later a representative to monitor Kartheiser on set. “Vincent Kartheiser vehemently denies the allegations,” said a spokesperson for the actor. “Warner Bros. investigated this matter and made clear to Mr. Kartheiser its expectations for behavior on the set, and he agreed to comply with their directives.” “Bar Rescue” host Jon Taffer apologized after saying on “The Ingraham Angle” that “a hungry dog is an obedient dog,” in response to Ingraham suggesting that cutting off unemployment benefits could motivate people to find employment again. The comment “was an unfortunate attempt to express a desire for our lives to return to normal,” wrote Taffer on social media. The decision “aligns with the studio’s strategy of expanding its production footprint and investing in studio space across the UK, with many of Amazon Studios’ tentpole series and films already calling the UK home,” said Amazon. Season one of the untitled series is set to premiere in September 2022.
